The Devonshire is Vispring's entry point into the hand-crafted range, built entirely on British wool across three distinct layers that serve different roles from surface to core. The ticking is woven from wool and viscose, a pairing that keeps the cover soft against the skin while adding durability for decades of use. Beneath it, a layer of hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool provides immediate give, with loft that promotes airflow to moderate temperature throughout the night. A further layer of British fleece wool adds depth and resilience, helping the surface maintain even support over time.
The spring system features a single tier of 1,716 hand-nested, calico-pocketed Vanadium steel coils in a King size, each in its own calico pocket to respond to weight independently for balanced support. Vanadium steel maintains tension longer than standard carbon steel, a property extended across the range. The Devonshire is available in four tensions—Soft, Medium, Firm, and Extra Firm—with King sizes optionally split at the center to accommodate different sleep preferences. Two rows of hand side-stitching secure the border coils to the mattress edge, while hand-tufting with felt washers locks fillings in place to prevent lateral shift and preserve a consistent surface for years to come.
